Future tenants need only bring a computer and pencil.

As for the rest of the supplies, officials with the planned Crexent Business Center in Stuart say they have it covered.

"We specialize in full service," said regional director Erica Woodham. "We have everything you think you need."

One of the hottest concepts in workplace real estate is now coming to the Treasure Coast, providing individual businesses with fully serviced, fully furnished offices.

The 37,000-square-foot complex, at 850 N. U.S. 1, should be up and running by March. Construction began earlier this summer, but was hampered by hurricane-related delays.

Crexent officials say the key to their business center popularity is providing everything the tenant needs in an environment close to home. Stuart is seen as the ideal home for such a complex.

"We are always looking for the opportunity to be in more of a residential area, where people would have to commute farther than they want to," said Woodham. "When we went to Stuart, we found exactly what we were looking for. And we thought we could give the community something that benefits them."

Crexent already has flourishing business centers in Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Miami Lakes, Pembroke Pines and Bonita Springs. While typically utilized by small businesses, satellite offices and startup firms, Woodham said they rent space to everyone from Realtors and CPAs to wine company employees.

Occupants can choose the amount of support, service and equipment. The amenity list includes board rooms, a full-time receptionist, high-speed Internet access, personalized answering service, copy and fax center, exercise facility and more.

Leases start at one year, with offices ranging from 100 to 2,000-square-feet in size. Woodham said the Stuart complex will have about 90 offices.

"We've generated a lot of interest since we put our sign up," said Woodham, who attended a "raising the roof" party Thursday at the Stuart site. "I think people are really excited about this."
